FAQ

1. How long does shipping take?
Processing: 1‑3 business days (carpets, bean bags); 3‑7 business days (sofas). Shipping: 5‑10 days for small items; sofas via freight: 7‑20 business days (contiguous US). You‘ll receive tracking via email.

2. What are shipping costs?
Calculated at checkout based on weight/destination. Sofas may have separate freight charges. Free standard shipping on qualifying orders.

3. Do you ship outside the contiguous US?
Currently, only to the contiguous 48 states.

4. Do items require assembly?

  • Lazyman‘s sofa: Yes, require assembly (attaching sections, legs). Instructions included. Often requires two people.

  • Furry carpet: No assembly — just unroll.

  • Bean bag: Minimal assembly (filling bag with beads/foam). Filler included.

5. Lazyman’s Sofa (Upholstered Sofa)

Flammability Standard — 16 CFR Part 1640
All our lazyman‘s sofas comply with 16 CFR Part 1640, the mandatory federal flammability standard for upholstered furniture, which incorporates California Technical Bulletin 117‑2013 (TB 117‑2013). This standard establishes requirements for smolder resistance of materials used in upholstered furniture to reduce hazards associated with smoldering ignition.

Key testing requirements:

  • Cover fabric and filling materials must resist smoldering ignition from a cigarette.

  • All components are tested for smolder resistance, not open flame.

Permanent Labeling Requirement
Under 16 CFR 1640, every piece of upholstered furniture subject to the standard must have a permanent label with the statement:“Complies with U.S. CPSC requirements for upholstered furniture flammability.”The certification statement must be conspicuous and legible. Additionally, California law requires manufacturers to disclose flame retardant content per Business & Professions Code 19094 — upholstery materials in this product contain NO added flame retardant chemicals.

General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)
As general‑use (non‑children’s) products, our sofas are accompanied by a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) certifying compliance with 16 CFR 1640, based on third‑party CPSC‑accepted laboratory testing.

6. Furry Carpet

Flammability Standards — 16 CFR Part 1630 / 1631
All our carpets comply with 16 CFR Part 1630 (Standard for the Surface Flammability of Carpets and Rugs). Key requirements:

  • Applicability for large carpets: One‑directional dimension >1.83 m (6 ft) AND total area >2.23 m² (24 sq ft) — i.e., most residential area rugs and carpets.

  • Test method: Eight 9 inch ×9 inch conditioned specimens are exposed to timed burning pads in a test chamber.

  • Pass criterion: Char length must meet specified limits; specimens must not continue to burn beyond test duration.

  • Small carpets (below dimensional thresholds) are covered under 16 CFR Part 1631 with similar test criteria.

Small Parts Warning (if applicable)
If the carpet contains detachable fringe, tassels, or loose yarns measuring less than 1.25 inches in any dimension (fits within the CPSC 1.25‑inch choke tube for small parts testing), the packaging must include a choking hazard warning per 16 CFR § 1500.19: “WARNING: CHOKING HAZARD — Small parts. Not for children under 3 years.”

FTC Textile Labeling (16 CFR Part 303)
All our carpets and rugs comply with the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act (16 CFR Part 303). Each carpet must have a permanent label (sewn‑in or printed) disclosing:

  • Fiber content (e.g., “100% Polyester,” “80% Acrylic / 20% Modacrylic”).

  • Country of origin (e.g., “Made in China,” “Imported”).

  • Manufacturer or Registered Identification Number (RN).

FTC Care Labeling (16 CFR Part 423)
Carpets require permanent care instructions attached to the product (sewn‑in tag or printed label) — at minimum one safe cleaning method (machine wash, dry clean, spot clean).

General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)
As general‑use products, all carpets are accompanied by a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) certifying compliance with 16 CFR 1630/1631.

7. Bean Bag

Safety Standard — ASTM F1912
All our bean bags comply with ASTM F1912 (Standard Specification for Safety of Bean Bag Chairs and Bean Bag Covers). This specification is intended to reduce choking and suffocation hazards associated with bean bag chairs and covers (including those with and without zippers).

Key requirements:

  • Bean bag chairs are subject to a minimum performance requirement for durability testing.

  • Closures (zippers) must be designed to prevent accidental opening and unintended release of filling material.

  • Construction must reduce risks of suffocation and entrapment for small children.(The CPSC documented multiple child suffocation incidents from bean bags prior to ASTM F1912 implementation.)

Warning Labeling (ASTM F1912)
All bean bags must have permanent warning labels with suffocation hazard warnings — including warnings to keep away from children under 3, not to leave them unattended near bean bag chairs, and instructions to always keep zippers closed and repair any tears immediately.

FTC Textile Labeling (16 CFR Part 303)
Bean bag covers are covered under the Textile Fiber Products Identification Act. Each cover label must disclose: fiber content, country of origin, manufacturer RN.

FTC Care Labeling (16 CFR Part 423)
Bean bag covers require permanent care instructions for washing/cleaning.

Lead / Phthalates — General Use Products (ARSA Section 101)
As general‑use products (not intended for children 12 and under), lead content limits under CPSIA Section 101 do NOT apply to component parts that are not accessible to a child.Since bean bag covers are textile‑only, without accessible electronic components, lead/phthalate testing is generally not required. However, we voluntarily conduct third‑party testing to ensure material safety above regulatory mandates.

General Certificate of Conformity (GCC)
As general‑use products, our bean bags are accompanied by a General Certificate of Conformity (GCC) certifying compliance with ASTM F1912 voluntary safety standard.
